The way Bridge India communicates with you is changing.
Hi there,
The way Bridge India communicates with you is changing.
If you’re a Member, you’ll know we use Substack to communicate with you weekly.
If you’re not a Member, you’ll know that we send you very occasional newsletters. But now, you’ll hear from us much more frequently. In fact, you’ll get access to all almost the same emails Members get (like this one). You’ll be able to read a Preview as a Non-Member, and more if you sign up to become one.
Our Membership includes some change-makers from around the world. So our newsletters often start with celebrating some of their incredible work.
For example, congratulations to Deepak Chatap who was was born and brought up in the family of a farmer in Chandrapur district in Maharashtra, a historically underdeveloped area infamous for farmer suicide and ultra-poverty. He is now at SOAS in London studying Human Rights on a Chevening Scholarship.
Congratulations also to Priyajit Debsarkar, for launching the English translation of his book on The Concert for Bangladesh 1971, with H.E. The High Commissioner for Bangladesh to the UK, Lord Rami Ranger and Catherine West MP at the House of Lords.
Not to forget Devasiachan Benny, the son of a rubber sapling farmer from Kerela and the first in his family to go outside India, who just completed his Masters in Tourism and Cultural Policy from Goldsmiths.
And of course Joseph George for being recognised as one of the most infuential people in Data, by dataIQ’s Top 100. He grew up in the Middle East and Asia, which is where he first started his career in tech, now becoming co-owner of Dufrain. He’s also an investor in several early-stage companies.
We’re delighted so many of our Members are breaking barriers and creating positive change in society.

Our first Bridge India soiree is in collaboration with Pop Artist Ketna Patel at her fantastically colourful home and studio in Stanmore. Inspired by many years of famous soirees held at her Singapore studio, these evenings hosting poets, musicians, writers, film screenings etc have generated many long lasting friendships & collaborations across time zones and geography.
This soiree will feature the young and very talented Sarod maverick Abhishek Borkar from Pune, India. Abhishek is rapidly gaining recognition as one of India’s finest young sarod players.
Along with Abhishek will be his beautiful wife Saberi Misra. The daughter of Pt. Rajkumar Misra and Smt. Chandrima Misra, renowned musicians and gurus themselves, Saberi has been exposed to tabla and vocal music respectively, all her life, performing, training and moulding young minds herself.
