Forest Essentials, India Week videos, Girls Will Be Girls
Last chance to book for our event next week.
Dear all,
It’s your last chance to book our Forest Essentials evening with Noreen Khan on 27 Aug in Covent Garden. Scroll down for more.
Girls Will be Girls follows 16-year-old Mira as she discovers desire and romanc. But her sexual, rebellious awakening is disrupted by her mother who never got to come-of-age herself. The film is released in the UK on 20 September. Book one of their preview screenings beforehand.
Power is the ability to affect others to get the outcomes one prefers. Joseph Nye coined the term 'soft power' in his 1990 book 'Bound to Lead', to explain the ability to affect others by attraction and persuasion rather than just coercion and payment. The more you invest in soft power, the less you need to invest in hard power. In the video above, we explored India's greatest exports - its soft power - with Shaunaka Rishi Das (Director, Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies), Azeem Rafiq (Author, podcaster and former England Cricketer) and Mira Kaushik OBE (Co Director, VHAH Fest) at Ideas for India.
